Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
What is it?

As interest in psychedelics for mental health grows, research and conversations are moving into the mainstream. While new to some, these medicines have been used for centuries in cultural, social, and therapeutic contexts. Each psychedelic-assisted therapy is unique, with its own benefits, risks, and experiences.

My training focuses on cannabis and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, chosen for their safety, legality, and potential for meaningful healing. Offered only to eligible clients, this work is done within a somatic, and relational framework. It is not a magic cure, but for many, it can be a turning point - allowing access to emotional processing that may be out of reach in traditional talk therapy.

KAT is offered in partnership with medical professionals at Upstream Health in Abbotsford. Ketamine, widely used in hospitals for anesthesia, has also been shown to help with:

  • PTSD/C-PTSD

  • Attachment Trauma

  • Emotional Pain

  • Treatment-Resistant Depression

Ketamine Assisted Therapy What is it?

“Good psychedelic therapy = good therapy + the right psychedelic + the right dose.”
– Dr. Hillary McBride

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

How it Works

When paired with therapy grounded in a safe, attuned relationship, ketamine can help process emotions, memories, sensations, and defenses that are otherwise too overwhelming. Its dissociative qualities create space for new insights, nervous system regulation, and different ways of relating to oneself/others.

  • Legal and safe when prescribed

  • Can be used in high or low doses, based on the treatment plan

  • Requires a medical intake at Upstream Health

  • Sessions are medically supervised by a physician or nurse practitioner, with me as your therapist

I am connected with Katalyst Mental Health, a 12-week group therapy process involving 3 group ketamine sessions.

Cannabis-Assisted Therapy

What is it?

Cannabis can also be used legally to support deep, body-based trauma work. In low-dose, guided sessions, it helps the autonomic nervous system (where trauma responses are stored) release stuck survival patterns through sensation, movement, emotion, and natural impulses. It can also support clearing trauma-related dissociation.

Psychadelic-Assisted Therapy What to Expect â€‹

Preparation Sessions → Dosing Session → Integration Sessions

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is not a one-time experience - it extends and deepens an existing therapeutic process, requiring openness, commitment, and a strong therapeutic relationship.
